Exhibitions

While flicking through my local newspaper, I was captivated by this picture. Here the artist, Haider, has used the medium of a T shirt to stitch a written narrative of her horrific experience during the 2006 bombings of Lebanon. I like the way the two T shirts are connected by thread and seem to have been torn apart graphically and demonstratively.

While I was in New york I visited lots of exhibitions. One of my favorite shows was called 'Second Lives' - Remixing the ordinary. It consisted of a large collection of artists work using everyday articles to create exciting new objects and installations. I particularly liked the work of Teruya, because he makes the throwaway paper bag into a something quite different. It is like an idyllic stage set, a magical landscape filled with a sense of light and life.
